Terms and Conditions


These Terms and Conditions apply to all transactions between Isla Fine Art Cards & Gifts and you the customer. They do not affect your statutory rights. Please read them carefully.

Isla Fine Art Cards & Gifts is the trading name of Kew Books Ltd. Company number 04487706, VAT number 809 902 123. Our trading address, is 4B The Colonnade, Buxton, SK17 6AL and the company’s registered address is Fourth Floor, 18-20 Hill Rise, Richmond, Surrey TW10 6UA.

We have the right to change these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes we do make will take effect on the date they are posted on our website.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by English law and are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts. We do not accept amendments to these Terms and Conditions.

Failure by us to enforce any of these Terms and Conditions does not affect our right to enforce the rest of these terms and conditions.


Each order for goods made by you will be seen as an offer to purchase the goods and is subject to these terms and conditions.

If you wish to order goods on our website, you must be at least 18 years of age and accept delivery within the UK. All orders will be acknowledged by email at the time of order. Please note an acknowledgement does not constitute an order confirmation or acceptance. A legally binding contract between you and us will take place only once the goods have been dispatched and paid for. (We retain the right to decline all or part of your order for any reason, in which case we will inform you by telephone or e-mail).

To protect both you and us from fraudulent transactions we may use certain information about you including credit reference agency checks.

We will tell you if your payment details cannot be authorised for any reason and may invite you to pay by another method.


All quoted prices include VAT and we have taken care to ensure that all the prices quoted are correct. However mistakes happen and we retain the right to correct any inaccuracies, in this event we will contact you about any changes in the price and give you the opportunity to cancel your order if you are unhappy with any changes we may make.

Prices, offers and products are subject to availability and may change before (but not after) we accept your order. If a product becomes unavailable we may offer you an alternative, you are at liberty to decline the alternative.

On occasion, the prices payable and promotions of goods advertised on the website may differ from those prices and promotions offered at the same time in-store. We are under no obligation to honour any in-store price or promotion in the event that they differ from those on the website. Similarly, our store is under no obligation to honour any website price or promotion in the event that they differ from those in-store.

Any reduced prices for sales and promotions are only valid for the specified period.

Order Processing

When you place your order the details are sent directly to our secure till for processing. Once we have received your order and payment we will pick, pack and dispatch your order. We aim to do this within one working day, Monday - Saturday excluding Bank Holidays.

Secure Payment

We use PayPal to take payment online. They are a leading industry online payment company. At no point do we see your credit card details, they are passed using PayPal’s highly secure systems to keep you safe from fraud.

PayPal uses it’s own advanced encryption technology with every transaction. All transactions are monitored to spot potential fraudulent activity. They will send an email to confirm each transaction so you can be sure that you made this payment yourself. For further information visit


For UK orders our standard delivery charge is £4.95 per order, or £3.95 if you are only ordering greetings cards. We aim to dispatch your order by the end of the next working day.

Orders will go by either Royal Mail or My Hermes both of which should take 2-3 days to arrive. My Hermes is a tracked service.

If you are unavailable when our delivery partner tries to deliver your order they will usually try to re-deliver the next day or they will leave a card for you to collect your order from a collection point. If you refuse delivery or do not collect from the collection point and the goods have to be returned to us you will be charged for any extra costs incurred by us.

It is up to you to ensure that the address you have given is correct. If it is not we accept no responsibility if your order is not delivered to you.

All information we provide on this website is only a guide. All dimensions, weights and colours are approximate although we try to keep them as accurate as possible. If an item is out of stock we will dispatch them as soon as we receive them from our supplier. Some of our suppliers make goods to order so some of these items will take several weeks to arrive with us. Delivery and availability from our suppliers is out of our control and delivery cannot be guaranteed and any dates we give you will be approximate. We are not liable for any losses, costs, damages or expenses incurred due to delay of delivery of the goods.


We will always endeavour to despatch your order by the end of the following working day and to ensure that it is packaged carefully and securely.

If your order arrives damaged please email us immediately on attaching a photograph of the damage. We will assess the damage and arrange for a replacement or refund as required.

While we hope that you are happy with your order, we do understand that seeing something online and seeing it on receipt can occasionally lead to disappointment. If you are not happy please contact us immediately on 01298 938492 and we will arrange either a return, a replacement or a credit note.

You must return the item to us at Isla, 4B The Colonnade, Buxton, Derbyshire SK17 6AL within 14 days of receipt. Providing the item is in its original packaging and has been returned to us in perfect condition we will arrange the agreed refund or exchange. It is your responsibility to ensure that the item returns to us in perfect condition and we would suggest that you send it by registered post.

The cost of returning the goods is at your expense and this does not affect your statutory rights.

You can return the goods direct to our shop in Buxton. Please note that items bought in the shop are not subject to refund unless the item is faulty.


These Terms and Conditions of Sale are subject to the laws of England and by purchasing from us you agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts. We are required by law to inform you that sales can be concluded in English only and that no public filing requirements apply.
